Evgeny Raikov Biography
People's Artist of the USSR Evgeny Raikov was born in Moscow. His childhood and adolescence fell on severe years - first the war, then the post -war devastation. From the age of thirteen, the future singer to help the family worked at the Machinostroitel plant in Krasnaya Presnya. He had a lot of hobbies in his youth, and in all he reached heights - he had the first category of swimming and football, was a freestyle wrestling master.
But the matter of his life was another passion - to singing. On the stage of the House of Culture, he with pleasure performed Russian folk songs, which he heard in childhood from his mother. Modern songs were included in his repertoire, for one of them - “We are not stakefuls, not carpenters” from the movie “Height” - Raikov received the first award in his creative biography. Boris Perfilievich Shibanov - the head of the vocal circle, where Raikov was engaged - appreciated his talent and advised him to enter the conservatory.
This did not succeed, but at the Institute. Gnesins he was accepted. Here his mentor was Ksenia Arkadyevna Malkova. During the years of the teachings of Raikov, he continued to work at the factory-nevertheless, he did not have complete confidence in his artistic future, and he believed that "it was more honest to be a good worker than a bad artist." Fortunately, at the factory they treated him with understanding: they put a shift convenient for him, if necessary, replaced him so that he could attend classes.
In the third year, the soloist of the Bolshoi Theater Alexei Alekseevich Bolshakov drew attention to the gifted student. On his advice, Raikov decided to try his luck at the Bolshoi Theater. After successful listening, he was accepted there as an interns. Only then did he leave the plant - after all, now working in the theater in combination with an ongoing study at the institute did not leave a place for nothing else.
The first large batch in his repertoire was the prince in Rusalka Alexander Sergeyevich Dargomyzhsky, and this performance with the participation of Raikov was broadcast on television. Study at the institute. Gnesin Raikov completed the year. In the same year, he took part in the All -Union contest of vocalists. His success in this musical competition turned out to be very modest - only the fifth prize, but they paid attention to the talented singer - he was included in the list of candidates for an internship in La Scala.
In the coming years, new parties appeared in his repertoire one after another - Fenton in Falstafa, Vladimir Igorevich in Prince Igor, Boyan in Ruslan and Lyudmila, an Indian guest in Sadko, a helmsman in the “Flying Dutch”, and in the year he first performed the Lensky party in Evgenia Onegin. At the same time, he continued to sing in Russian operas. His partner was Elena Obraztsova.
In the year, the singer was awarded the second award at the vocal competition in Bulgaria the first prize was then not awarded to anyone. The important page of Raikov’s work was the execution of the second -plan parties: Golitsyn in Khovanshchina, Shuisky in Boris Godunov, Raymond in the “Orleans Virgin” in his interpretation - this is not “von” for central heroes, but original, vivid images.
Along with the classics of the past, he performed in the operators of modern composers-for example, he sang nozdrev in the "dead souls" Rodion Konstantinovich Shchedrin, a fisherman in October Vano Ilyich Muradeli. As part of the troupe of the Bolshoi Theater, Raikov toured a lot - he applied to Bulgaria, the Netherlands, Poland, Australia. Raikov’s talent manifested itself not only in the opera, but also in the cinema.
For four years, starting from the year, the singer headed the opera troupe of the Bolshoi Theater. Evgeny Raikov passed away in the year.
