His fate was tragically and happily. At four, after illness, Vasily was blind. However, this ailment did not repay the boy’s desire for knowledge. At nine years old, he entered the Moscow school for the blind.

After its end, Esperanto is engaged in, and soon goes to England - to continue education at the Royal School for the Blind. In the year, Vasily Yakovlevich leaves for Japan and lives in this country for some time: he studies the language, history, customs, is engaged in literary activities, publishing articles, fairy tales, and stories in Japanese. He teaches at the University of Tokyo, makes lectures on the movement of the Esperantists.

Then he goes to Thailand, India, where he studies the languages ​​of these countries, collects and processes samples of national folklore, works in schools for blind children. But he managed to return to his homeland only in the year, and before that he lived in India, Japan, China. However, wherever he is, Eroshenko led an active lifestyle. In Japan, along with his old friends, he performed at meetings, rallies, printed in magazines.

In China, he became close to the famous writer Lu Sile, taught Esperanto at the University of Beijing, and led literary activity. Here he wrote works: “On the shore”, fairy tales “The Heart of the Eagle”, “Close Cage”, “Pink Clouds”, “Stories of a dried leaf”. They are imbued with sympathy for the Chinese people. Eroshenko became one of the first Russians to speak for the need for the reform of Chinese writing.

After returning to his homeland, V. Eroshenko was engaged in the translations of Russian classics. Entering the Council of the All -Russian Society of the Blind, he was very beneficial here. During these years, Eroshenko participated in the work of the International Congress of Esperantists in Nuremberg, the International Congress of the Blind in Vienna. He was on Chukotka, and then in Turkmenistan - to establish the work of the blind.

In the city of Kushka, he organized the first invisible school in Turkmenistan, where he developed the Turkmen dictionary for the blind in Braille. Having returned to Moscow, he taught English at a Moscow school for blind children.

Eroshenko knew many languages: Russian, Ukrainian, Esperanto, English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, Tai, Burmese and others. The literary heritage of the works of V.
