The first theatrical successes 3. Courageous fairy -tale heroes and realistic negative characters, comedic and dramatic images - his diverse work invariably conquered the viewer. Alexander Gavriilovich was incredibly efficient, never lost a sense of humor and often risked: at almost all the shooting he worked without an understudy. There, in the city of Ferghana, his father Gabriel Abdulov created the first Russian Drama Theater in Central Asia and became its artistic director.
Mother Lyudmila Alexandrovna worked in the same theater as a costume and make -up artist. Alexander was the third son in the family. His two older brothers did not want to follow the theater path, and his father dreamed of a successor. Therefore, from childhood he brought up an “artistic nature” in his son. At the age of five, Alexander first went out with his father on stage in the production of the famous play of socialist -realism “Kremlin chimes”.
Abdulov recalled that since childhood he was inspired by the attitude to the theater as a temple. Father even forbade walking in his theater without taking off his headgear. Nevertheless, for a long time the scene was not at all the main hobby for Alexander.
He often hooligan, made explosives from chemicals stolen from the school, painted his face with his mother’s makeup to scare neighbors, and played the guitar of the songs of his beloved The Beatles. He was professionally engaged in fencing and even awarded the title of master of sports of the USSR.
The son fulfilled the request, but failed in exams. Abdulov returned back, passed exams to the faculty of physical education of the Ferghana Pedagogical Institute, and in order not to lose creative form, he got a job as an actor to serve his father in the theater. But here it was not without excesses: Abdulov was late for the show and tore one of the performances.
For this, his father kicked him out of the troupe and appointed a simple worker scene. After a year, pushing the scenery in Ferghana, in the summer of the year Alexander again went to storm Moscow. The first theatrical successes in Moscow Abdulov had a hard time: he wandered around the dormitories, worked on the unloading of wagons, rejoiced when it was possible to star in the mass.
Alexander himself subsequently compared himself to the mongrel, which swung to conquer the capital. So Abdulov got to the theater. He was especially reverent to Mark Anatolyevich Abdulov, called the “second father”: “Because all that I am is my father - Gabriel Danilovich Abdulov, and all that I achieved is my second father, Mark Anatolyevich Zakharov.” Abdulov very much appreciated in people fidelity, devotion and ability to support in a difficult situation.
With particular respect, he recalled how Zakharov defended him as the Verkhovensky from the "demons." In the life of Abdulov there were also many episodes when he showed courage and dignity. So, starting to work in Lenkom, Adbdulov fell in love with an American, vice president of a large bank. Young people began to meet, but once the actor called to the KGB - explained that his lover was an American spy, and offered a “deal”.
Abdulov refused to cooperate. After that, for a long time he remained a disastrous, and during the tour was often accompanied by KGB agents in civilian clothes. But even with such pressure, Abdulov managed to maintain not only composure, but even a sense of humor. He recalled some of the Parisian tour of the Lenkoma, “Six“ art historians in civilian clothes ”went with us.
And so I left the hotel, I saw that they were standing with my back to me, and in all seriousness asked: “You will not tell you how it will be in French:“ I ask for political asylum?
