The leading sector of the city’s economy is industry, the pace of its development determines the state of the city’s economy as a whole. Atomic energy is the basis of the industry of the city. The Kursk nuclear power plant is part of the first four of the country's nuclear power plants equal in terms of power, being the most important node of the Unified Energy System of Russia.

In the first half of the year, for large and medium -sized organizations of the city, the volume of investments in fixed assets amounted to 11.3 billion rubles. This is the first position among areas and cities of the region. Most of the funds - 8.3 billion rubles - investments in the construction of the KuaEU in general for the year of investment in Kurchatov will amount to 22 billion rubles.

The lack of safe and convenient travel from here to other microdistricts of the city complicates access to objects of preschool and school education, medical, social and cultural institutions.

It is difficult to drive an ambulance here, the services of the Ministry of Emergencies. In December, in the framework of the national project “Safe and high -quality roads”, we began the implementation of a large -scale project “Construction of an overpass from Sovetskaya Street to Yefim Slavsky Street”. He runs through the railway and ensures the connection of the southern residential area of ​​Kurchatov with its other parts, the unhindered movement of railway and road transport.

The concept of the integrated development of the coastal territory of the reservoir involves the creation of three diverse spaces.

The first stage is a recreational space with the organization of the beach area, camping, ecotropes and various sites for relaxation and leisure. The second stage is a sports and fitness space with the organization of a base for a triathlon and the placement of other sites for outdoor activities. The third stage is the “Kurchatov Alley”-the creation of a museum-educational and leisure space from an exhibition alley dedicated to the discoveries and inventions of academician Igor Vasilyevich Kurchatov.

The territory is developed as part of the Kurchatov-Expo project together with the team of “city leaders”. The population of the city received a proposal for choosing events, the implementation of which is advisable in the public territory “Teply Coast -2”. Given the opinion of citizens, the public commission approved the events that will be implemented in the project.It is supposed to hold a triathlon competition, bicycle paths, bicycle rolling pavilion in summer and skis in winter will appear, the transformer site in winter will be an open roloner, a table tennis zones, street simulators, a cable town and a skate park, a playground for walking and training of dogs, a beach zone, landscape backlight are provided.

The estimated cost of the Warm Coast -2 project is a million rubles. At the expense of the regional budget, large families are provided with social benefits for the initial contribution when receiving a mortgage for housing purchases. Veterans and disabled people of the Second World War, registered and need to improve housing conditions, receive a one -time payment for the construction or purchase of housing.

Since the year 40 Kurchatov families from preferential categories of citizens have improved their living conditions. For the years, the city’s budget provides for 5 million rubles annually to provide housing for young families and in priority - large families, which will help to purchase housing to 24 families. In addition, residential specialized premises from for a year of 27 citizens from among orphans and children left without parental care are provided.

The basketball tournament “King of Atomgrad” and a friendly football match among the coaching staff and pupils of MKU “Sports School” of Kurchatov were organized. We also accepted such large -scale competitions as the Cup of the Kursk Region for triathlon and the final of the Russian Cup.
